Invoice Requirements

A Commercial Invoice is a document that must accompany non-document consignments to any destination outside the EEC. This enables local customs authorities to apply the correct procedures in order for the consignment to be cleared. Dutiable consignments that do not have a Commercial Invoice document may be delayed. JCA are not liable for any delays due to customs. Below is instructions to complete a Commercial Invoice correctly.

  1. The document must be on company letterhead.
  2. Consignment note number is required.
  3. Shippers address.
  4. Consignee's address.
  5. Detailed contents of the consignment. Customs will require more information than samples, gifts, personal effects etc.
  6. Value for customs.
  7. Reason for shipping.
  8. Shippers declaration with date and signature.
